About N.ERGHY

In 2008, the Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Joint Technology Initiative (FCH JTI) was officially started with the foundation of the Joint Undertaking (JU). [see Council Regulation (EC) No. 521/2008 of 30 May 2008 [link] (bitte noch inaktiv)].

The N.ERGHY association was formed in 2008 by the European research community to effectively represent its interests within the JTI. NERGHY is formed as a Belgian non-profit association (AISBL - Association International Sans But Lucratif) and is completely financed by its members. This independence from commercial and political interests allows N.ERGHY to act purely for the interests of its members. Here [link] (bitte noch inaktiv) you can find the English translation of our statutes.

The Joint Undertaking (JU), the legal entity operating the programme management and funding activities within the FCH JTI, is overseen by the Governing Board. The board is responsible for deciding strategy, programme and budget issues of the JU. N.ERGHY represents one of the three groups of board besides the European Commission and the Industry Grouping (NEW-IG).

As of January 2009, N.ERGHY is representing more than 55 universities and research institutes from over 15 European Countries and continually more members join us.

The objective of N.ERGHY is to promote, support and accelerate the research and deployment process of fuel cell and hydrogen technology in Europe from the point of view of the research community. Within and around the JTI, N.ERGHY is following a broad range of activities to support and strengthen fuel cell and hydrogen technology, see Mission [link].

The association is represented by its president, elected every two years, and by its Executive Board. A secretariat is supporting the activities and also acting as a contact point (Contact).
