Membrane Electrode Assemblies: materials, processing and validation

As outlined at the last General Assembly meeting in September 2008, a Working Group dealing with all topics surrounding the Membrane Electrode Assembly in polymer electrolyte fuel cells is initiated as one of the scientific activities of N.ERGHY.

Non-exhaustively, this includes the membrane, catalyst, electrode, MEA assembly and processing, materials and MEA validation, ageing phenomena.

The aims of this working group are several:

  • preserve the MEA community of recent and running European projects on MEA developments within the framework of N.ERGHY,  extended to all actors in N.ERGHY working in the MEA area,
  • create critical mass and an identified group for information exchange via a dedicated workshop,
  • provide coordinated support and input as needed on future call topics to the JTI-JU Aplication Area work group leaders,
  • prepare response to JTI calls for proposals and to other European and international calls in the fuel cells and hydrogen topic areas.

The N.ERGHY community has recently been invited by email to express their interest in joining the N.ERGHY MEAs working group, by giving a short background to specific areas of interest and expertise, in an email to Deborah.Jones [at] univ-montp2.fr.
