The Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia is an independent, non-profit institution created by the regional government of Catalonia in 2004. ICIQ is devoted to research in the field of molecular sciences. Research focus on two main areas: Catalysis which aims at discovering new and useful catalytic processes to tackle challenges such as sustainability, health and energy, and Renewable energies, focused on the generation of hydrogen from water through sustainable processes, the development of more efficient photovoltaic devices and the CO2 conversion into liquid fuels and feedstock for the chemical industry. Around 20% of ICIQ’s research staff is dedicated to FCH.
