University of Salerno

At the University of Salerno five teams from three departments are active in hydrogen and fuel cell research. They perform fundamental and applied researches on new materials for FC and hydrogen production. A strong focus is on cell and stack components. Specific efforts are dedicated to experimental studies and modelling towards the improvement of performance and reliability of all fuel cell components and hydrogen production devices, attention is also given to ancillary equipment and power electronics. Control, diagnostics and prognostics are the topics of current interest for both SOFC and PEM used in transportation and stationary applications.
The main activity is developed in cooperation with international leading universities, research centres and industries in the framework of EU FP7 and H2020 funded projects.
